There are many lessons for mankind to learn from the past. Amongst them the greatest have been the lesson to accept women as equals. For long women have been denied equal opportunities in the running a business. There has been a change in the situation and the present is much better than the past. But there is still a long way to go.

The consequences of women not being given chances to run Businesses and participate in the economic growth have been catastrophic to say the least. With man at the helm, mankind faced deep economic recessions, fought bloody wars, and brought irreversible changes to the environment. Despite a need for change, the male dominated society stubbornly refused to give women a chance.
But despite the odds against women, they have proved themselves to be worthy competition. For a prosperous world, there should be no gender competition. Nevertheless it is a battlefield especially for women and they have conquered ever industry.
Women are a big part of the global work force and they are also a majority of the consumer base for most products. Hence it would do more harm than any good to continue old ways of Bias.
With the advent and enhancement of the Internet, the work place soon shifted from commercial offices to homes. The most benefited was the House wife. Working from home is solely women's domain though not restricted to homemakers any more. Internet advertising has a many women players. Women freelance writers are a community in themselves. Call centers are now not swanky air conditioned building but a simple kitchen where a woman can take calls while cooking.
This and many other contributions of women on a large scale include 25 percent contribution to the growth from exclusive women businesses and the benefits to the economy by the small scale industry. The largest employer in most developing countries, the small scale industry spawns many areas of work. It is the mainstay for several million families and most of them are women owned.
